Where we come from
Twenty-five years of making other businesses the story.
Etradewind didn't start with a pitch deck. It started in 2001, when Lloyd Isom — after years inside two IT companies — went out on his own, building computers, servers, networks, and websites for local businesses around Charlotte. In 2006 that work became Etradewind, a registered business in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The job then was the same as the job now: take the technology a business depends on and make it actually work for them.
The tools have changed beyond recognition — from wiring closets and beige towers to cloud infrastructure, custom software, and AI-driven automation. What hasn't changed is the shape of the work. Today Etradewind covers development, consulting, security, hosting, and business applications configured to fit each company individually — plus the online marketing and content that makes the investment pay: campaigns, articles, and a steady presence that puts our clients in front of their buyers.
A quarter century in, the record is simple: we've spent the whole time promoting other people's businesses. This page — and this site — is the rare exception where we talk about our own.
How we think about it
